Outback Jacks Bars & Grill - Perth, Western Australia

I'm generally a Western food lover while my partner on the other hand, prefers Chinese food. Since we had Chinese food for dinner on our first day at Good Fortune Roast Duck House, we decided to have Western food for lunch on our 2nd day in Perth. Outback Jacks Bars & Grill is located at Rockingham Shopping Centre. The restaurant was quite empty when we reached there around noon and only one table was occupied.

We ordered a combo (combination of rump steak, pork ribs and baked spud) and their lunch menu special, Jalapeno chicken wrap. Although only one table was occupied, we waited at least half an hour for our food. The rump steak was a disappointment. We ordered medium well steak without any blood and it came out dry, char on the outside and unevenly cooked on the inside. Worst part, the steak tasted bitter. We approached the waiter and he told us that's the way they char-grilled the meat. However, he was willing to cook a new steak for us. Second steak came out slightly better but yet it still tasted bitter. We were a bit tired to comment further since the waiter kept on telling us "that's the way they char-grilled the meat" and so far they did not received any customer complaints.

Rump steak supposed to be a delicious cut of meat and can make a tasty meal. Sadly, we didn't really enjoyed it. Same goes for the Jalapeno chicken wrap. It was a perfect combination of grilled chicken strips, salsa, cheese and Jalapeno peppers but got spoiled by the slight bitterness of the grilled chicken. Overall it wasn't a pleasant dining experience.

1. Choose: rump steak, chicken breast or chicken wings
2. Add: beef ribs or pork ribs
3. Add: chips or baked spud

Lunch menu special: Jack's wrap  - choose either: 
1. Grilled chicken breast, grated cheese, tomato, lettuce, onion and ranch dressing or
2. Grilled barra, tomato, onion, lettuce and garlic aioli or
3. Jalapeno chicken wrap - grilled chicken strips, salsa, cheese and Jalapeno peppers

Jollibee is a Filipino multinational chain of fast food restaurants. On the day of arrival, we asked our friendly Grab driver what is the must-try food in Philippines and he mentioned Jollibee. So here we at Jollibee located inside Landmark Department Store just 4 minutes (250m) walking distance from  New World Makati Hotel . We ordered 2 pieces of chicken served with rice and drink. Rice is soft. Fried chicken is crispy, flavourful and tender. It comes together with a brown gravy which taste like KFC mashed potatoes gravy. Overall it's good. Hounon Ridge Farmstay & Camping - Kundasang, Sabah

Hounon Ridge Farmstay is located at Kampung Himbaan Bundu Tuhan, 36 minutes drive from Kundasang town. The road heading to Bundu Tuhan is very steep and narrow. There's no street light and driving at night can be hazardous if you are not familiar with the road condition. Be particularly alert when driving and watch out for cows, chickens and stray dogs on the side of the road. There's 4 types of room available. If you are the adventurous type and not afraid of cold, you can even camp outside Hounon Ridge Farmstay. Our room was on the 1st floor overlooking Mount Kinabalu. Great view and you can slide the glass window to get some fresh air.
